About Our Business
Located in Lakeland, Fl., MST is a family owned and operated business
since 1991. The owner, Lonnie Bertsch, began his career as a salesman of
Brouwer sod harvesting equipment and parts for other companies from the
early 1980’s.
In 1991, Lonnie acquired Mid-State Tractor/Sod Division after a company
split and began traveling the state selling parts out of his truck. His success
allowed him to expand in 1992 by becoming Florida’s only dealer of the
Texas Sod Harvester. Soon after, Lonnie became a dealer for Progressive
Turf Equipment as well.
Mid-State Tractor/Sod Division was providing quality products all over the
state of Florida. We incorporated in 2002 and became MST Sod Equipment,
Inc. We soon outgrew their facility and relocated to the current site in 2003.
By this time, Lonnie was a known dealer for Load Lifter as well. This has
given MST Sod Equipment, Inc. the ability to offer a more complete line of
product to the sod industry.
In January 2009, in order to expand our customer base we obtained a full
line of Bobcat Compact Tractor and Utility Vehicle's. We also provide parts
and service.
Today, MST Sod Equipment is a company that provides outstanding parts,
equipment and service to the entire state of Florida and some parts of
Georgia. We appreciate your interest and look forward to meeting your
